Connecticut trade directories

Eight trades, one method. Each directory covers Connecticut statewide and ranks contractors on public customer reviews, re-checked every month.

Organized the way trades are hired

Every directory covers one trade across the whole state. Contractors do not work town by town, and a directory split into hundreds of thin town pages would tell a homeowner in Glastonbury nothing that a homeowner in West Hartford could not already see.

A directory is published only when there are enough real contractors, with enough public review evidence, to make the ranking useful. That is why there are eight and not eighty. Where the evidence is not there yet, the page waits.

The pages below are briefs, not listings. Each one explains the coverage, the trade-specific scoring notes, and the status of the directory. The ranked listings themselves live on each directory's own site.

One method behind all eight

Scores are built from public customer reviews, weighing sentiment, star rating, volume, recency, and completeness, with a Bayesian adjustment so a small sample cannot outrank a long record. Per-trade criteria sit on top of that and are described on each directory page.
